Jobtitle: Freelance Curator and Consultant
I have been involved in the development and touring of exhibitions for over ten years; currently as a freelance curator and previously in my capacity as Exhibitions Project Officer at the Crafts Council, and at The Women's Library, Textile Conservation Centre, National Archives and Museum of English Rural Life. I have experience of developing touring exhibitions on a range of scales and budgets, exploring a diversity of topics including craft, design, art and social history. I believe touring exhibitions are an excellent way for organisations to collaborate and share knowledge, that they are a fantastic approach to showing national collections regionally and they allow important collections and research to reach the widest possible audience. I would welcome the opportunity to be re-elected to the TEG committee; to be involved in the advocacy and promotion of touring exhibitions as an effective way for museums and galleries to work together, to encourage dialogue and critical debate about how touring exhibitions can be best developed and to support the delivery of the TEG training and research programme.
