Seminar on Promoting Touring Exhibitions, 22 October 2010, Birmingham
TEG's next seminar on PROMOTING TOURING EXHIBITIONS will be held on FRIDAY 22nd OCTOBER 2010 at BIRMINGHAM MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY: GAS HALL.
The seminar will provide delegates with an introduction to marketing techniques and strategies, looking at how one can identify key target audiences and deliver your product to them. The day will explore both how to promote exhibitions for hire and also how to market the hired exhibition to the general public in the host venue. Consisting of a mixture of practical advice and case studies from large and small organisations it will be an excellent opportunity to discover new marketing skills, brush up on your existing ones, and network with other people and organisations in the touring exhibitions world.  For further details and to book online please see the Seminars page.

Exchange

In Spring 2008, TEG launched a new six-monthly Exchange publication containing details of forthcoming events, exhibition reviews and updates about what’s new on the web site.  We are keen to hear from any member who would like to contribute a review of a touring exhibition or a case study of a collaborative exhibition project to a future issue of Exchange – for more details email: judith@teg.org.uk.

Note that exhibition images submitted for inclusion in Exchange should be sent as jpegs and must be hi-res (300 lpi).  Please ensure that full captions and credits are supplied.  Email images of newly-available touring exhibitions to: judith@teg.org.uk.

A free copy of Exchange will be posted in February and September to all TEG members who are listed on our records as the main contact for their organisation. Additional copies of the most recent issue of Exchange can be purchased for £10 (including p&p). Please send your cheque made payable to 'Touring Exhibitions Group' to Nicola Coleby, Keeper of Exhibitions, Royal Pavilion & Museums, Brighton BN1 1EE.

The new format Exchange publication replaces Exhibitions Exchange (‘X’), formerly circulated by TEG in spring and autumn each year to summarise details of TEG members' newly available touring exhibitions.  New exhibitions for hire will be listed in Exchange by title only, but full details of all currently available exhibitions being toured by TEG members - plus preview images - will continue to be included in our Exhibition Search.

You can enter exhibition details for the online database on the Exhibitions page.  New exhibition titles will be included automatically in the next issue of Exchange.
